Feeling pretty good! My asthma came back, so here I am on this wonderful medicine again, although (knock on wood) my blood sugar numbers are saying pretty calm for the time being. I have had some back pain, and this child of mine realllllly likes to kick weird and uncomfortable things inside of my body that gives me a nice little spook. But besides that, I really can't complain. My swelling has arrived, but in all honesty, not to bad. My toes, fingers and my calves usually take the brunt, but just by looking at me, it doesn't look horrible. I feel it more then see it.
I have gained around 30 ish pounds I go in for an appointment today, so we should see. Last Thursday, our scan told us that she weighed 4 pounds 14 ounces. She was measuring a bit small, but not concerning. The dr said that's to be expected as I was born/ still am small (5 ft 2). Ned is tall, but not a large framed guy. My amniotic fluid was a wee bit low but not concerning as, lots of things could affect that at this point. I am very thankful for my weekly scans, and how they give me piece of mind. Every time I see her, she looks so much more squished. I feel bad for both her and I at this point!
I pre-registered for the hospital this week. Answered tons of questions for her birth certificate (our race, ethnicity, education, etc). I also got a free diaper bag, so that will be a nice extra to keep in the car in case we forget something. They had me watch a video about epidurals, and took me on a tour of the ward. The baby heaters were all set up and ready to go. There was an infant in the nursery. It got me all teary eyed. I will be in that position so soon!
Ned is getting excited. It takes up most of our conversation these days. He has been such a help. Going grocery shopping with me, vacuuming, picking up, feeding the dogs at night. Just a huge help.
My dad is coming tonight. The last visitor until Juliette arrives. I am excited for some quality time. Although the start of hot season is here and man, it's going to be uncomfortable!

34 weeks 2 days
Still here and moving right along. I have my monthly growth scan on Friday, so I am excited to see how much she weights, but according to my apps, she weights about 5.5 pounds and is as big as a large cantaloupe.:)
Being on steroids has helped my asthma, and maybe even my pelvic pain (or that's just subsiding for a little bit), but my blood sugar? Ummmm, yeah. Nightmare. Prednisone makes my sugar spike (even with no carbs). So they put me on more of my GD meds. Well, I apparently respond to well to both of those and it has been a balancing act since then. Today is my last day of prednisone and I could not be happier! It has gotten pretty high, but the scary thing is when it get to low. I ate pretty much the entire day and night on Monday to try to keep it high enough to keep me out of the danger zone. I told my nurse that if I have gained 10 pounds this week, she can't be mad at me! Juliette actually woke me up Monday night. She was kicking pretty hard and I was trying to ignore it and it she finally kicked me just the right amount of times for me to get up and switch positions. In the process I realized I didn't feel right and I took my blood sugar and it was very very low. So I ate a full meal and then set my alarm to eat every hour. That was a sleepless night for sure, but thank goodness for Juliette!
It's been getting hot here, which means swelling (mostly in my calves). Not horribly, but enough to where it's rather annoying.
We went to a birthing class last weekend. Because I have done so much research already, I didn't learn to much, and Ned was bored out of his mind (it was a crash 7 hour course that took up two beautiful weekend days!). They talked all about birth, interventions, and even feelings (?!?) But we are both thankful that we took the class. More to reassure us for things we may use down the road (epidurals, what's safe and not safe). We also got everything else off the the registry that we think we will need. So all we have left to do it hang the video monitor, install the carseat (and get it checked out), and clean the fan! Everything is sanitized, cleaned, ready!
I am getting huge. Ned keeps saying, wow, your belly is really getting big! I think he leaves for work, and then comes home to think that I will be normal size again and I am just that much bigger (almost like body dismorphia)! He is really loving getting ready, although he probably is ready for me to be done. I wake him up all night long by going to the bathroom. I can't do lots of things (like vacuum, as it hurts my stomach ligaments) and he overall has picked up a lot of slack (feeding dogs at night, cleaning kitchen, picking up the house). He is a trooper!
We also had a dog trainer come. He gave us an entire different approach to helping Nina and Ragzie and I am excited to get things started. It's basically conditioning them to like people and not be sacred of them. Not correcting and yanking their collars, but giving them treats to think positively about the new things in their environment.
I figured I would tell about my Gd (gestational diabetes) in this post. I think I have had it since around 20 weeks as I have had the symptoms since then, but because people don't usually have symptoms, I didn't know what to look for. At my 26 week appointment, I mentioned that I think I may have it. I had recently gone down to my shower in Florida and realized that after I had big meals or especially something sugary, I felt really sick. I don't a eat a ton of sugar to begin with, so I wasn't noticing it on the regular, but I finally put two and two together. She said she doubted it and thought I was just having a sugar rush, but she will test me a week or so early. Sure enough I failed the first test, so I had to take the second (three hour) test. Both made me feel very sick! When they called to tell me, I almost giggled because I knew I was right. But it's just so weird because I really am not a huge carb eater anyway. In fact since then, they have told me I need to UP my carb intake in some instances.
So I saw a nutrition counselor who thought I could manage it with just diet, but I need some help with oral meds. So far it's pretty under control. I prick myself 5 times a day and make sure to eat very measured amounts. I started walking a lot more, but once my pelvic pain started, had to stop. It has been much more of a challenge though because on top of eating no dairy, or gluten, there is this. It's hard for me to eat out at this point!
I also crave a lot of things and I just have to deal with it. If you have ever been pregnant, you know a craving is not like a usual "I would love a brownie." It's a "If I don't eat a brownie this minute, my head will explode and I can't stop thinking about it until I get one in my belly!!!!." I have had some pity parties, but for the most part, I am ok. I think what helps me is feeling like crap if my sugar does spike. It also helps to know I don't want to hurt Juliette!
Ok, That's all for now. I will be back to talk about my showers, and nurseries and maybe even my favorite gear for now. :)

33 weeks 3 days
Long time no see!
I will give the latest update. So much has happened in 10 weeks! I had two showers (which I will elborate on in another post). I am HUGE. I have gestational diabetes. I have aches and pains. And yeah, Juliette is getting big!
My current complaints- BAD pelvic pain (almost my top left leg muscle). It's not happy. I go to the Chiro which helps big time and I try my hardest not to take tylenol, but sometimes, it's inevitable. My GD (Gestational diabetes) is usually under control. Well, that's until I had a flare up of asthma. They put my on steroids starting today and BOOM...Spike. I was told to expect it but I don't like it! My headaches that I had in second trimester seem to have gotten a ton better. I got very bad eczema, but as soon as the weather started getting warmer, that cleared right up (thank goodness!) I waddle like CRAZY, and take forever to get out of bed or from sitting down. I didn't realize that you basically lose all of your stomach muscles!
My current loves- I love feeling her move. I love the small and medium size kicks. I get weirded out and flustered when I feel the big movements. This morning I felt an arm or leg side swipe my side. I felt the entire outline of it. I got freaked out! I don't mind feeling her inside of me, but when I can tell body parts, it's just strange! I love being able to see her once a week. Starting at 31 weeks, I have to go get an ultrasound every week. Some people think this is a pain in the butt, but I love it. We also get to see her in 3D so it's really fun. When I first saw her, it was immediate amazement, and love. I thought she was the most beautiful thing ever. She gets hiccups a lot, and because of her position, it's always facing down, hitting my pelvis. That's a weird feeling! I am loving my body. Although I don't think I look huge, when I walk by mirrors and see pictures, I am always surprised.
Cravings- Not as bad as first and second trimester and with GD, it's hard to feed the cravings, so I try to ignore them. Although I really look forward to my apple and peanut butter everyday
weight- around 24 pounds
her size- around 5 pounds and as big as a pineapple.
The next posts I have will talk about GD, the nursery and things we are doing to prepare and my showers.

23 weeks 2 days
Hello! So, I am feeling really well! I have quite an appetite these days. I want sweets like crazy. So I "accidentally" ate...a lot of peeps. They are addicting. I ate around 13. Oops. But in all honesty, this was over a period of 2 days, and I honestly don't eat sweets, so instead of having tons of ice cream and chocolate everyday, I had some peeps and most likely won't have dessert for another few weeks. I can't feel TOOOO guilty, right? I have been using fruit to keep my cravings at bay.
Juliette has been moving a lot, but mostly at night. In fact I woke up the other night to her having hiccups! Ned finally felt her. He looked at me, asked, "Was that her?" and immediately took his hand away. lol It was a funny reaction. It still sometimes takes my breath away. I started getting braxton hicks and realized they were happening mostly at night. So instead of stopping my water around 8 PM, so as not to be up all night going to the bathroom, I don't stop, and just wake up more often. So, um, that's not very fun! I have also been having some migraines, and along with the headaches, I am light sensitive now and when looking at lights, I sometimes see stars. I got that checked out and it is just "migraine activity." So thankfully all is well. Besides some aches and pains though, I have been feeling very good. I do get tired more often and definitely after doing something like standing around a lot, I start feeling sore. But that's to be expected.
I have gained 14 pounds. My doctor is great with that, and so am I. I am mean, I am not eating tons of unhealthy things. I am still watching what I eat and not snacking too much. So besides those 13 peeps, it really is all baby. I mean my body is finally doing something healthy and I am dang proud of it. So, I really can't complain!
We have been busy with the nursery and just getting ready. We registered and picked out everything. The crib came yesterday and is looking great! Ned painted the room and now we just need to do the details. My showers are in the next few months and I am getting crazy excited about them!
All in all I am doing great. I do tend to get in more bad moods than normal. Simple things just tend to set me off. I usually have to breath and tell myself to snap out of it, but I can definitely tell that my hormones have a life of their own! Poor Ned:)

20 weeks 1 day!
So I am 20 weeks, 1 day pregnant. I can finally announce that baby is a GIRL and Juliette Noelle is her name! I have been feeling her a lot more recently and even started feeling her on the outside at 18 weeks 6 days. Ned finally felt her two nights ago, and at first he thought it was just my muscles spasming, but no, it's her.:) She even kicked so hard yesterday it lifted my ipad off my belly. No, I won't be keeping it there from now on. lol I don't think she liked it. We told my family about it being a girl when we went down there my stepfather's birthday. We got cake pops and when people bit into them, they were pink. I let my grandma , Nana, take the first bite. She was very surprised!
We are in full blown baby mode. We finally registered. Picking out the strollers was the most fun. I had researched them (and everything else) and knew which ones we wanted to focus on. We then talked to the stroller expert for about an hour! It was all very overwhelming (in a good, but tiring way). I was completely done for the day after I got home. Then we went back again the next day to finish up. I am still touching them up, but the registries look perfect at this point. There is a lot of stuff the baby will use! I get the comment "Well, baby doesn't really NEED all of that stuff" a lot. Well, yes, they are correct. BUT, we will asses what we dont have and make that decision before she comes. I would like to see those people saying that, have a newborn, have those things available, but not actually have them in your posession. Why wouldn't you want to make your life a little bit easier? LOL. If my baby is sick, and I ned to take her temp. It would be pretty nice to be able to swipe her forhead with a thermometer instead of waking her up, and sticking a thermommetr in her, just to have her stay awake for much longer then neccessary. So, yes, I registered for needs, as well as wants, and would be nice items. :)
I am feeling good. I have gotten a little bit tired again, but that's another day to day thing. I also have gotten some headaches, but my blood pressure and everything is great. I slipped last week on ice. I was so mad at myself because I was trying to hard not to even go out until the ice was melted, but I had to go to the dr. So I was scared, and mostly mad. I did get a quick scan to show everything was normal. We then had the anatomy scan yesterday (20 weeks). Everything looked great! She was very photogenic. :) That's my girl!
We also picked out a paint color for the room, and all that needs to be done is it needs to be painted! I purchased the low VOC (fumes) paint. I will not be painting, but it will help the fumes while Ned is painting. We decided to paint the room light blue because there will be some pink in there. We are doing a pastel color nursery. But, when we put light blue on the wall, it was wayyyy to light and bright. So we decided on a darker blue. With all off-white furniture, I have a feeling it will look GREAT!
We also scheduled my showers. I am doing them a bit early for multiple reasons. 1. is I have to travel for one of them and don't want to feel awful. 2. is that I know lots of things can pop up (with my history, I learned this well) and I want to be prepared. 3. being that I am the worlds biggest NON precrastinator. I have even started having nightmares about the showers being too late! haha. So I need to have them out of the way for my own selfish reasons. I am so excited about them and I have a feeling Juliette will be very spoiled. :)
I have gained 11 pounds! Yes, That's correct. Right on track, so that's good. They even measured my belly at my last appointment and that was fun. No really, I was excited about that!
My cravings have died down a bit. I am not as voraciously hungry as I was a few weeks ago, so that's good. I don't expect that to stay though.
OK, I am off for now Hopefully I will write more sooner rather then later!

Weekly Photos So Far!
Here are my weekly photos. I missed a few due to nausea or being out of town, but you get the point. :)

11 weeks

13 weeks (annouccement)

Week 15 and 16
These weeks are starting to fly! I am definitely starting to show a bit. I will get pictures up soon. Not much has been going on besides baby, and just keeping busy. I started a new sewing project which I am excited about. I am making a baby mat/thick blanket. A little more complicated, so we shall see how this works out. We got another ultrasound of the baby last week and it looked great! It was bouncing around and very active. When it went to sleep, the ultrasound tech bounced on my belly and it woke up. It was a very strange feeling.
I have also started feeling it move (started Sunday afternoon January 28, 14.6 weeks)! At first, it freaked me out, but now, I really enjoy it. I feel like someone is always with me experiencing stuff with me. Although I still find myself reaching down and scratching as it feels like something is tickling my belly!
OK, so here is what's going on,
Symptoms- SINUS migraines. I don't have a stuffy nose, but lots of pressure. My ears sometimes feel full and I just feel blah. This is very common with pregnancy. I am just trying to stay on top of it as my body just "loves" to give me sinusitis. My belly feels tight and stretches and I am sometimes getting out of breath more easily. I can also sometimes feel my heart beat. This is very normal apparently as I am producing more blood. Another very weird thing is I can see more veins. I recently read somewhere that it's because your veins get bigger because the extra blood volume. So interesting to me!! I am drinking more water and trying to keep hydrated as I can definitely tell when I don't drink enough. I start coughing more and my throat feels very dry.
Weight gain- 4 pounds! Very weird knowing that this is all normal and healthy. I mean who wants to gain weight? Lol. But in reality, I am happy my body has finally started gaining.
Cravings- Citrus fruit, salty foods, and fish. Still Asian and Mexican foods.
Overall doing well and feeling great. Pain wise, I am doing very well so that's wonderful!!
