So I am 20 weeks, 1 day pregnant. I can finally announce that baby is a GIRL and Juliette Noelle is her name! I have been feeling her a lot more recently and even started feeling her on the outside at 18 weeks 6 days. Ned finally felt her two nights ago, and at first he thought it was just my muscles spasming, but no, it's her.:) She even kicked so hard yesterday it lifted my ipad off my belly. No, I won't be keeping it there from now on. lol I don't think she liked it. We told my family about it being a girl when we went down there my stepfather's birthday. We got cake pops and when people bit into them, they were pink. I let my grandma , Nana, take the first bite. She was very surprised!
We are in full blown baby mode. We finally registered. Picking out the strollers was the most fun. I had researched them (and everything else) and knew which ones we wanted to focus on. We then talked to the stroller expert for about an hour! It was all very overwhelming (in a good, but tiring way). I was completely done for the day after I got home. Then we went back again the next day to finish up. I am still touching them up, but the registries look perfect at this point. There is a lot of stuff the baby will use! I get the comment "Well, baby doesn't really NEED all of that stuff" a lot. Well, yes, they are correct. BUT, we will asses what we dont have and make that decision before she comes. I would like to see those people saying that, have a newborn, have those things available, but not actually have them in your posession. Why wouldn't you want to make your life a little bit easier? LOL. If my baby is sick, and I ned to take her temp. It would be pretty nice to be able to swipe her forhead with a thermometer instead of waking her up, and sticking a thermommetr in her, just to have her stay awake for much longer then neccessary. So, yes, I registered for needs, as well as wants, and would be nice items. :)
I am feeling good. I have gotten a little bit tired again, but that's another day to day thing. I also have gotten some headaches, but my blood pressure and everything is great. I slipped last week on ice. I was so mad at myself because I was trying to hard not to even go out until the ice was melted, but I had to go to the dr. So I was scared, and mostly mad. I did get a quick scan to show everything was normal. We then had the anatomy scan yesterday (20 weeks). Everything looked great! She was very photogenic. :) That's my girl!
We also picked out a paint color for the room, and all that needs to be done is it needs to be painted! I purchased the low VOC (fumes) paint. I will not be painting, but it will help the fumes while Ned is painting. We decided to paint the room light blue because there will be some pink in there. We are doing a pastel color nursery. But, when we put light blue on the wall, it was wayyyy to light and bright. So we decided on a darker blue. With all off-white furniture, I have a feeling it will look GREAT!
We also scheduled my showers. I am doing them a bit early for multiple reasons. 1. is I have to travel for one of them and don't want to feel awful. 2. is that I know lots of things can pop up (with my history, I learned this well) and I want to be prepared. 3. being that I am the worlds biggest NON precrastinator. I have even started having nightmares about the showers being too late! haha. So I need to have them out of the way for my own selfish reasons. I am so excited about them and I have a feeling Juliette will be very spoiled. :)
I have gained 11 pounds! Yes, That's correct. Right on track, so that's good. They even measured my belly at my last appointment and that was fun. No really, I was excited about that!
My cravings have died down a bit. I am not as voraciously hungry as I was a few weeks ago, so that's good. I don't expect that to stay though.
OK, I am off for now Hopefully I will write more sooner rather then later!
