Week 14

Hello! I know I missed a week. Sorry! Ok, big news. We got an ultrasound last Thursday. It was the most amazing thing ever. The baby was moving like crazy! I told it it needed to stop that as omg, it is so weird that there is something moving inside of me and I can't feel it! It was also sucking it's thumb. I may or may not have told it to stop that as I am hoping not to have to spend thousands of dollars on braces:). Obviously, I was being sarcastic.

The moment we saw the wee one, we both fell in love. We have had two previous ultrasounds and they were both awesome, but this one looked and felt more real. Plus, I LOVE my ob. She calms all of my nerves, lets me ask all of my questions and doesn't rush me. She even told me that according to my, um, specimen, I am her rock star patient is who drinking more than a prefect amount of water! That made me feel good as I have really been working on that. I usually drink about a gallon a day but with such bad morning sickness it is hard to get even 64 oz in.

Ned came to my appointment. I love having him there as he makes sure all of the questions get asked and is not shy to ask them. Overall great appointment. They made a (very premature) guess on the sex. We are not saying anything, but it had us really excited!

I then went home and made it Facebook official. Now the world knows:). Ned also told his office. I came in the next day to give a present to someone and an hour later, I had told a huge crowd the whole story and just about everything anyone would want to know about me! haha. I was the entertainment that afternoon. It is such a great feeling to finally have people excited about something that has to do with my health!

This week is good. Just met with my asthma dr. I am still having issues from when I got sick in November, but we are taking care of it. A pain in the butt, but everything is very well controlled.

Ok, so here is the information

Symptoms- Feeling better! Still get very tired. I also sometimes feel my heart beating in my chest, but that's normal. I take my pulse and it's normal, so that's good. My nausea is subsiding. I had a bit last night, but it was a quick feeling. Still get nauseas while grocery shopping, but overall, much better! My belly feels like it may be getting bigger. The heartbeat is higher, so that means my uterus is moving into place. When I hear the heartbeat, you can tell the baby is moving around as it comes and goes.

Weight gain- 1.5 pounds...and so it begins!

Cravings- pretty much the same (Mexican and Asian). I am craving grapefruit and spinach as well, but that's it.

Overall, we are happy as can be and everything is going great! Have a wonderful weekend!

Week 11

So much to report! I will give you a summary and from now on, I plan on updating this regularly.

How far along- 11 weeks 6 days!

Heartbeat? YUP! My dad sent us an old doppler that we use. I started hearing the heartbeat about 2 weeks ago. That (because you usually start hearing it 10.5 week+), my second ultrasound, and the dates, all lead me to believe I am further along by about 5 days, but my OB for now doesn't want to change the dates (which is totally ok, I would rather the baby cook for longer, I am not bringing it up with her agin, but it still drives my "OCD" self a little crazy).

Symptoms- Ok, so here we go. That's the main reason why I haven't been posting a ton. I haven't felt good. I have had some extreme nausea. Throwing up as well. I have had some silent reflux at night, which causes my nausea to be the worst at night. The all day everyday nausea has subsided, and I am currently just getting it BAD at night. I have days of being exhausted and then the next day am ok. So I think my energy may be coming back. I have to drink a lot of gatorade and water or my back gets a little sore. I have been doing yoga which helps as well. I am having some post nasal drip and on and off dry coughs. I got pretty sick at the beginning of December and had to go on some atibiotics. I went on some more because my asthma was still acting up (which I think is another symptom of pregnancy). That's better, but every now and again I still cough. I am going back to my dr next week  but I am almost positive it's because my extra post nasal drip at this point. I have gotten lightheaded two times, so not to bad at all! Sleep is not amazing, but that started pretty much the day I found out I was pregnant. That's about all I can think of at this time.

Cravings- well at first, I didn't want anything and it was hard because I didn't know what I wanted until the last minute when something might sound good. So a lot of times someone had to mention it and then I would want it. I was nauseas so pretty much everything was out of the question. But that seems to be subsiding. I only wanted sour for a while, but now, sweet sound better. I am always telling Ned that if I didn't have my gluten and dairy intolerances I would have gained so much weight by now! I am eating lots of fruit! I am craving Asian food and Mexican. That's been a constant this whole pregnancy so far.

Weight gain- No. I lost some weight, then gained it back. I am about even.

Life in general has been good. The cough and asthma issues have been quite annoying, but it's getting better. We did a lot over the holidays (went to the Grand Cayman, Went to FL, my mom came here to visit). It was hard because I wasn't feeling well, but I did fine. I have been taking belly pictures, so I will post those in a little bit:) Our 12-13 week test is next Thursday so I am very excited! Our good friends told us that we may get a guess in on the sex of the baby. Of course it's not that accurate, but still fun!

We have built up quite an accumulation of baby things and I will make sure to post pictures.

I have been working on sewing again, and I may be a little obsessed. It's kind of rediculous. I mean how many burp cloths does one really need?

I hope you have a wonderful day!
